This is a good booster seat, and seems very comfortaable for my 3 yr old. The only bad thing is the cupholders, they do not hold any kind of cup. Every cup just falls out because the cupholder is too shallow.

I have a 3 year old son and he loves this seat. When I bought it I thought it could move around the car because it doesn't have any secure to lock directly to the car, but fortunately I was wrong. It fits with bigger kids than my 3 year old son and I'm satisfied because I know I don't have to invest more money in boosters for some years.

Great chair. I would have given it 5 stars except my son has a hard time pulling the seat belt across, due to the insert where the strap goes on the seat. It gets caught quite a bit. Other than that it is a nice seat.

I needed this sheet for a new Pack N Play I purchased for a visit with my daughter, son-in-law and 3-month old granddaughter. My daughter already has this sheet at home and I got it for my Pack N Play because it is her favorite. Washes and dries up great and fits the Graco Pack N Play like a glove. You will not be disappointed. Amazon's lightning fast delivery is something I have come to depend on. I have never been disappointed with anything I've ordered from Amazon!

These sheets are poorly made. They feel like mattress pad material rather than soft sheets and the backing fell apart after one washing despite having followed the washing instructions. I am returning this product and would not recommend it to others.

We didn't like this monitor. My husband said it was useless. It didn't seem like we could hear anything and there was some static. We sent it back and got the one we really wanted for a lot more money. Happy now.

I'm using this cute little compact device not as a baby monitor, but a security monitor. The idea is to be able to hear what's going on on the other side of the house at night while sleeping. It is placed next to a motion sensor in the living room. If the motion sensor goes off, the warning sound from it is pickup and sent to the bedroom.

I didn't think the signal would reach 60 feet but it does. The microphone is so sensitive, it can pickup the sound of a ticking wall clock! There is no interference in the signal so it won't keep you awake. ALL 3 PARTS INCLUDE A AC ADAPTER! No need for ANY batteries!

I am a full-time caregiver and I bought this to monitor the bedroom where my uncle sleeps so I can hear him during the night if he needs anything. All I got was static, and could hear a woman talking to her friend what is unusual about that is we live in the country and I should not be able to hear someone's conversation. Anyway, I tried for 2 hours and could not get the static to go away so I shipped it back and went to Radio Shack and bought their cheapest 2 room intercom and that solved my problem.
I am not saying this baby monitor is not for you, it just did not work for me.

We have 2 eldely parents living on the 1st Floor. Both have Senile Dementia/Alsheimer Disease. Mother also has Osteo and falls if she attempts to walk alone. With her mind being very confused, we gave up trying to ask her not to get out of bed alone. Everytime she has done this she has fallen, 2 many trips to emerg room. Both dread going into a Nursing Home. Eventually we'll have no choice...For now this monitor is a BIG help. My brother is in the basement, I'm on the 2nd floor. We swap nights for monitor coverage. This saves on hiring additional help to come in while they sleep. It also gives us a little peace of mind as far as having homemakers alone with my parents. Just knowing there is a monitor on would hopefully keep them from ever 'being mean or disrespectful' Even when we aren't actually listening the homemaker wouldn't know the difference, sees the light on. On a sidenote be prepared to hear things that might surprise you, comments made by family, Ha! In order to avoid static we turn it down to the very lowest. Now if we can just get dad to stop expecting it to answer him back...

I have had a new swing with each of my children and this is hands down the best!!! I do not have a bounce seat this time since this goes for both. I move him around from the bath floor while I shower to the kitchen counter where we "chat" while making meals. NO batteries since it plugs into the wall. I got this for $120 which was the cost of just a swing but do not need to get a bouncy chair so I save that $60. As for the noise I see some complian about... it is no more than every other swing we have ever owned. The only down fall is the swaddle wrap did not last long enough for my little Chunky Monkey ;-)Also the neutral colors make sure is not an eye sore.

Ok, first of the product is not the easiest to assemble in the world, but it's not that bad either. Probably 20 min is an accurate time. Unless you work in a production shop or spend your day at Babies R Us putting these together all day, it will take up a few minutes of your day. Honestly the build quality is great, very well made machine. The cushion for the baby is very good, as well as head and neck support. Now, here is where to split between the different reviews; The motor, yea, it makes SOME noise, show me a whisper quiet baby swing motor and email me back...what do you expect, it's a mechanical motor, and not Lexus built mind you. The motor does have a slight hesitation on speed #1 during initial start, but I found if you go up a few speeds, then back down to #1 it works as it should. It is such a low rpm, it just needs a little momentum is all...again not a Lexus. Speaker quality is great, as are song choices and sounds. As far as the review that the woman flat out did not like any of the songs..honestly now, maybe you like the AC/DC, but your baby should be happy with the tastefull classical music.
overall, price to quality, excellent work and a great product. The baby is very happy and should be one of the most important aspects of the review as well as child safety. This product has it all, and if you are a reasonable person who understands a little bit about the principals of physics you will be a happy customer with a happy baby! Enjoy!

I love Graco products and this car seat was no exception. (my older son has the Graco Nautilus car seat) I decided on this model because the colors are gender neutral, and it has things like strap covers and the boot included too. I love that the boot helps keep my son from kicking blankets off! This car seat seams to have more padding than some of the other car seats that I looked at, and my son stays happy and comfy even on longer trips in the car.

The Graco SnugRide is also one of the top safety rated infant car seats on Consumer Reports which is a huge plus!

As a first-time parent it's difficult to choose from the zillions of options for car seats. You want one that's safe, but you don't want to compromise your style. We ended up selecting this seat because of the weight, safety ratings, and color. We initially purcahsed the SafeSeat and ended up returning it because it was heavier, bigger, and wasn't as compatible with strollers/carts as the Snugride.

Our son is 3 months and so far we like the seat. Here are some pros/cons:

PROS:
=> It's easy to get in and out of the car.
=> Matches the interior of our car
=> Lightweight
=> Since it's so popular, it's compatible with a lot of strollers
=> Works great with the Snap N Go frame -- we've used the carseat as our buggy/stroller for the first three months since we live in a colder climate and don't go for a lot of walks in the dead of winter, so it's used to-from the car and at our destination for short periods of time.

CONS:
=> The chest buckle is difficult to hook/un-hook at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's not that bad. However, it is annoying when you can't unhook the buckle to rescue a screaming baby from the seat.
=> My husband wished the handle were angled, like the EvenFlo and Baby Trend seats, but it's too late now to return it, so we deal with it.
=> I don't understand the footmuff -- the velcro holds the fabric back, but when you unvelcro it and put it over the baby there is no velcro to attach it to on the seat so the muff just sticks up the air and doesn't provide a lot of warmth.

Safety seats require adult participation

Child safety seats are seats designed specifically to protect children from injury or death during collisions. Automobile manufacturers may integrate child safety seats directly into their vehicle's design. Most commonly, these seats are purchased and installed by consumers. Many regions require children defined by age, weight, and/or height to use a governmentally approved child safety seat when riding in a vehicle. Child safety seats provide passive restraints and must be properly used to be effective.

History

After the first automobile was manufactured and put on the market in the early 1900’s, many modifications and adjustments have been implemented to protect those that drive and ride in these vehicles. Most restraints were put into place to protect adults without regard for children, infant through pre-school age. Though child seats were beginning to be manufactured in the early 1930’s, their purpose was not the safety of children. The purpose was to act as booster seats to bring the child to a height easier for the driving parent to see them. It wasn’t until 1962 that seats were invented in England by Jeans Ames with the purpose of protecting a child.

Before these seats were invented, rates of death in infants to young children were staggering. Over 2,000 children under the age of fourteen in the United States die every year I automobile accidents. As if the rate of deaths was not enough, another 320,000 are injured each year. These injuries and deaths are not just a result of the severity of the accidents themselves. The staggering numbers, in general, can be related to the amount of children not being properly restrained within the vehicles. These children are either strapped into adult seat belts or completely unrestrained altogether. As a result of these statistics, it is required by law the children under the age of four be secured in safety seats made for children in most of the fifty states. Also, most states require booster seats for children aged four to fourteen dependent upon each individual child’s age, weight, and height.

Manufacturing

Though there are hundreds of variations of makes and models in the world of child safety seats, the materials used in the manufacturing process are basically the same across the board. Factories in which the seats are put together receive loads of a tough plastic called polypropylene in the form of tiny pellets. This tough plastic is very hard to crack, so it only makes sense that it would be used to form the base of all child safety seats. This plastic is universal in the make of all restraints made for children. A company by the name of Indiana Mills is responsible for manufacturing the adjustment mechanisms and buckles for most child safety seats. Foam makes up the padding of the individual seats, while vinyl and fabrics are used to make up the covers for the seats as well as the harnesses. Among all these products used to make one child safety seat, none are as important as the labels each manufacturer prints according to Federal standards. Printing of these labels is done by subcontracted printers of the manufacturer. These labels must have a permanent place for storage in or on the safety seat and must withstand any tearing so as to make any missing information obvious.

The process of manufacturing the safety seat is what brings all these components together to form a restraint that will help to lower the outrageous statistics of infant and child injury and death rates substantially. In the beginning, the polypropylene is put to use in molding the shells of these seats. Since it arrives in tiny pellet form, these pellets must be melted down and put into a mold the desired shape of the seat. Once this process is completed, it is down the assembly line the product moves. On this assembly line, all of the articles from the outside contractors and suppliers are added to the mold. These things include the foam padding, the fabric covers, the harness, and any buckles or attaching mechanisms. Most importantly, the labels and instructions are attached at this time. Once it is past the assembly line, the product hit’s the packing department. Here, the seats are wrapped in plastic and packed in cartons which then gets stacked and stored for shipping once ordered.

Types

Child Car Seat

All child safety seats are made and manufactured using the same process, however there are different types of seats for children of different size and age with specific guidelines as to how they should be used. From the time a child is born, they must always ride in an infant seat which is most well known as a rear-facing convertible seat. These seats are designed for a baby that is under twenty pounds and should always remain facing the rear of a vehicle. Seats made specifically for infants are the smallest and have carrying handles for easy carrying and loading. They can be used until the infant is up to 22 through 32 pounds depending on the instructions specified on each individual model. A convertible seat is a child safety restraint that is suggested for the use in the same age and weight range, they are just generally more bulky and can be converted to forward facing child seats as the child grows.

Toddlers and pre-school aged children also are to use convertible seats. Though it is recommended that the child remains facing the rear of the vehicle as long as possible, it is acceptable to begin front-facing anywhere after the child reaches twenty pounds. The child should ride in a convertible seat with a harness until he or she outgrows it around the age of four of at about forty to sixty-five pounds. Schooled-aged children, which are considered to be at least 4 foot in heights and between the ages of eight and twelve, now upgrade to booster seats. These seats are also front facing and are designed to raise children up so that the belts made for adults fit properly. By this age and size, the child has completely outgrown any rear-facing seat. From the height of 4’9” and the ages of eight to twelve, children may have outgrown their booster seats and can be permitted to use regular adult seat restraints. It is suggested that, until the age of thirteen, the child remains in the backseat.

Hazards

Manufacturers go through every step possible to ensure these seats are properly put together and packaged. Although, it is not always guaranteed that the included instructions are always correctly regarded and put to use. Up to 95% of the safety seats that are installed may not be the right seat for the child, may be hooked into the vehicle loosely, may be hooked with an incompatible belt in the vehicle, may have harnesses incorrectly fastened in some way, or may be incorrectly placed in front of air bags. In 1997, six out of ten children who were killed in vehicle crashes were not correctly restrained.

Along with the problem of instructions not being followed properly, there are other hazards that can effect children involving these safety seats. A recent study attributed many cases of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) to the prolonged sitting /laying position these infants are in when putting the safety seats to use. When researchers reviewed more than 500 infant deaths, it was found that 17 of these deaths occurred while the in was in a device such as a child safety seat.The age of the most occurring rates of death by SIDS in a child safety device was found to be under one month, having six of the 17 deaths happen in this age group. Although SIDS has been found to be a high risk regarding child safety seats, a coroner in Quebec also stated that “putting infants in car seats…causes breathing problems and should be discouraged.”His warning same after the death of a two-month-old boy who was left to nap in a child safety seat positioned inside of his crib rather than the crib itself. The death was linked to positional asphyxiation. This means that the child was in a position causing him to slowly lose his supply of oxygen. The coroner said that it is common for a baby’s head to “slump forward while in a car seat and that it diminishes oxygen”. It is recommended for drivers to make frequent stops during trips to prevent an infant sitting in a slumped forward position for any length of time. These are just a small example of the many things that could possibly go wrong with any child safety seat. It is suggestible that every parent look into the product they are buying to gain knowledge of how they work and the ratings they have received. loved the Amazon price and I love that the 5 point harness will keep my toddler safely in his carseat for a while before we switch it to booster use later. It was a little confusing straight out of the box (what kind of carseat is it when you have to read the instructions just to put it together?!) but it works fine now. It is a challenge getting the buckle out from underneath the kid but the shoulder harnesses are easier to get over his shoulders than our previous Britax Roundabout. Plus Jon and Kate + 8 use it! :)

love this car seat. this was a second purchase for our second car. Since Britax is so expensive, this is a great alternative to get a 5 point harness over 40lbs. It is easy to install and is very secure when using the latch straps. my daughter also loves the cup holder and the hidding spot for her toys. She is 3 1/2 yrs old and fits perfectly in it with room to grow.

We love this product. Our infant car seat was a Graco and now we got this...installed well in our Camry with the latches. Our daughter loves this front facing seat...guess she had enough of the infant seat. The reclining option is not soo great though...but unlike other negative reviews on the recline, we never had a problem with her drooping over. Maybe it just depends on the height and weight of the baby or just the way its installed.

I had the britax car seat but it never seemed to fit my daughter comfortably. The graco carseat seems very comfortable for her and it is easy to use. The cup holder is also a nice addition. The price is also very reasonable.

My children have each had a Marathon. I love the seat. My children enjoy the comfort, I enjoy the ease of fastening and tightening the harness. It installed easily in my Ford Taurus. I currently have a Marathon and Regent. The space is tight back there...there is about a 7 inch space between the two seats, but that is insignificant when compared with their safety. My daughter is outgrowing her Marathon, so I will be moving her to the Regent and my son will go into a booster.

We purchased the Britax Marathon for my son when he was 8 months old. We kept him rear-facing until he reached the max weight for rear-facing at 2.5 years old. Now 4, he rides front-facing and still has a lot of room to grow. We bought the denim cover and it still looks great. It has been washed countless times, and like a pair of jeans, the denim has faded in areas, but I think the fading makes it look really cute.
We have driven all over the country and my son rarely complains of being uncomfortable. This seat is well padded and perfect for napping.
I love the rigid latch. I really didn't appreciate this until I tried to install my nephew's cheap Wal*Mart carseat and had a VERY difficult time getting a proper fit. The Marathon cinches down quickly and easily. Once installed, it doesn't budge. If your vehicle doesn't have LATCH, the Marathon has seatbelt lock-offs to help maintain the proper tension of the seatbelt. This has really been handy for us since my sister-in-law's car doesn't have locking seatbelts in the backseat. No problem for us, though!
In short, I can't say enough about the Marathon. It has been one of the best investments I've made. We have had 4 years of use from our Marathon and I anticipate at least another year before my son outgrows it.
Compatibility: This carseat has been installed with no problems in many different vehicles ranging from Toyota Corolla to Chevy Suburban. Actually, I have yet to encounter a vehicle in which I was unable to obtain a rock-solid installation.
